Scope
Standardized dimensions for carbon and low-alloy steel pipe (Sch 5 through XXS).
Key requirements (6)
- Welded and seamless wrought steel pipe — dimensions and weights.
- Pipe schedules: 5, 5S, 10, 10S, 20, 30, 40, 40S, 60, 80, 80S, 100, 120, 140, 160, XS, XXS.
- Schedule 40 CS most common for general service.
- Outside diameter constant per NPS; wall thickness varies by schedule.
- NPS 14 and above: NPS = OD in inches; below NPS 14: NPS ≠ OD.
- Pipe length: random (16–22 ft) or double random (35+ ft) typical.
